![]() ![]() A buffer lowers the impedance of your guitar's signal from the get go as this lower initial settings means you will lose less signal along the way. Every time you pass your guitar signal through an effect this signal gets a little weaker. If this is strictly a practice amp, the power difference may not matter. If you see yourself playing with other people soon, you're probably going to want the bigger amp. If that's a concern, you might want to step up to the 35. The 20 probably doesn't have enough juice for that. The 35 might be just loud enough to play along with a drummer. The 35 also brings a larger speaker and, obviously, a bit more wattage. Drive pedals and such are also happy running through the front of the amp. You may not need this at all and lots of people still run those effects through the front of the amp. Effects loops are mostly used to bypass the preamp when running time-based effects through the amp (things like reverbs, digital delays and chorus). Realistically, that may mean nothing at all. ![]() The 20 doesn't have an effects loop at all. The difference isn't that the effects loop is fully buffered or not. However, I have no clue what that it is and if it is something I should consider upgrading for. TL DR Can't decide if I should change my ORange crush 20RT for a 35RT due to it having "Full buffered effectsloop". Is this something I will miss in the 20RT combo for playing the kind of music I want to play? What is the full buffered effectloop used for?īy the way, money is not really a concern, the 35RT is only about 70 euro more where I live. Are there features on the 35RT combo that I'll miss for that purpose on the 20RT? I've done a little research and would love to do some more, but my problem is I don't have a whole lot of time to make the change (time limit of return policy) and as such I need to figure out asap if I should change or not.įrom what I can understand the difference is that the 35RT has something called "Full buffered effectloop". Nine Inch Nails, Metallica, Iron Maiden etc. ![]() Right now I'm mostly playing beginner rock music, and I guess I don't need anything advanced, but in the future, once I Start getting more profficient, I'd like to play more metal/heavier music, e.g. The reason being I saw that it has some extra feautures over the the 20RT and I'm starting to question if I'll regret not going for the bigger one once I start getting better. However, I've started questioning if I made the right decision in buying the 20RT instead of the 35RT. I bought an Orange Crush 20RT Combo which I've heard is a really good one. However, I am starting to have second doubt about my amplifier and therefore wanted to ask here if I bought the right one for me. So, I recently decided to buy my first electric guitar and amplifier and I must say, it was one of the best purchases I've ever made! I ended up buying a Gibson Les Paul studio which is now my favorite thing in the world! Hey everyone, a happy beginner guitar player here with a question about amplifiers :). ![]()
